Hello, my name is Benjamin Odell (as you probably guessed from the title) the goal of my amazing website is to teach you some of the things that I know about the video game Old School Runesape
What is Runescape
Runescape is a massively multiplayer role playing game (MMORPG) set in a medieval style world. You may be wondering why I used the word Old School in the paragraph above and answering that question is the main point of this section.
There were/are three versions of Runescape. The first call Runescape Classic known (only Runescape when it was released) came out in 2001. This was followed by Runescape 2 in 2004 and Runescape 3 in 2013. These number releases were not different games, as the numbering may suggest, but the same game going through new updates. Thus there was no way to access Runescape 1 after 2 came out, and no way to access 2 after 3 came out. Due to this updated nature of the game it was losing players after Runescape 3 came out causing as players did not like the updates to the game’s core combat system. To fix this the developers release Runescape Old School or Old School Runescape. This game was based on a 2007 backup of Runescape 2 that the developers still had.
You can still play Runescape 3 today, but as my experience with that game is limited this website will only be focused on Old School Runescape (OSRS) so anytime I mention Runescape it is in reference to OSRS.
